Advertisements for razors/shavers amuse me.

By 2 LGD on October 06, 2007

There's a Gillette ad playing that has Thierry Henry, Roger Federer and Tiger Woods claiming they don't think about the past. Apparently this makes the razor better. A Philips shaver ad challenges me to "Conquer the moon! Conquer the stars! Conquer the neck!" Schick insists that I need four blades and Gillette insists on five. I remember the days when the ads insisted it took two blades to achieve a clean shave (the first blade lobbed off half a follicle and the second one finished the job).

..and of course there's the attractive woman at the end who seems highly appreciative of the results of the razor. Although I've always suspected she's in fact admiring his strong jawline, impeccable features, and expensive suit (or bare chest as the case may be).

There used to be a great one that went

"Shaving is about personal grooming".
