How about "anal", "negative reinforcement", "superego", or most other jargon psych terms.

PING

Started as an acronym for a particular type of ICMP request. Come to mean a generic "send me a message".

When I say "PING" to my network manager, I mean one thing - when I say it to a marketing manager, I mean something completely different.
